Use Vinegar To Rejuvenate Your Facial Skin

VinegarVinegar is the basic ingredient of centuries old beauty recipes. Long before even one commercially produced beauty product became available women knew how to rejuvenate their skin and keep aging at bay by using naturally occurring herbs, oils, honeys and vinegars.

Apart from its well known culinary uses, vinegar has outstanding medical, hygiene and cleaning properties so it is hardly surprising that it became an important ingredient in the very earliest of beauty recipes and cosmetics.

Vinegar Beauty Recipes

Try these easily made vinegar beauty recipes to rejuvenate your facial skin and make your bath water aromatic and refreshing.

  1. Add 1 quart of apple cider vinegar a non-metallic pan and bring to the boil. Remove from heat and add a 2-3 tablespoons of dried mixed or Provencal herbs, better still add a handful of fresh mixed herbs. Allow to steep until cooled strain out the herbs and pour into a screw topped jar.
  2. Take a glass or ceramic container and fill two thirds with apple cider or white wine vinegar. Stuff the jar with washed fresh mint or tarragon according to taste until the vinegar reaches the top of the jar. Don’t bother to be gentle, the more the mint or tarragon is bruised the better. Seal the jar and stand for 14-21 days. This makes a marvellous facial wash and if you are a mint freak like me that lovely fresh aroma stays all day and makes you feel really fresh.
  3. Mix rose petals, lavender, rosemary and any other aromatic flowers, add a little rose water if preferred, with apple cider vinegar and allow to steep for 14-21 days in a non metallic sealed container. Quantities can vary according to taste and availability. Keep a note of the types of flowers and quantities so that you can easily repeat the mix that really appeals to you.
